Biography

     "Brendon Bjorness-Murano (aka: Low B) Graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 2004 with a degree in Public Speaking and music performance (in classical guitar). There he graduated with honors and performed in over 15 ensembles including Classical guitar ensemble, Jazz studio ensemble, Big Band, Dixieland Band and many others.

      Presently, Brendon is the bassist, vocalist, manager and main song writer for the Psychedelic, funk, rock band Jabbawaukee as well as playing guitar and vocals in Soul/Americana duo Owleye with Julie Zito Buttersworth.
     During and after college, Low B Founded and played bass in the psychedelic, funk, progressive rock bands FUNK NUGGET (1999 - 2017), THE LAW (2007 - 2010) and LIQUID POCKET (2011-2013). With Funk Nugget, Low B played over 500 shows form 1999-present and produced their live CD's "Live Jams Volume I" (2004) and their 2009 Studio Album "Biscuit City". Funk Nugget was nominated three times (in 2003, 2009 & 2010) as Rhode Island best Jazz/Funk Band in the Providence Phoenix Newspaper. Funk Nugget opened for such bands as Max Creek, Ziggy Marley & the Melody Makers, John Cafferty & the Beaver Brown Band, The Radiators, The Rustic Overtones and many others.

    With The Law Low B played on, produced and released their debut CD "The Law EP",  as well as  an 11 Song Studio album "Burning the Ghost", which has been recorded and is being released in the Spring of 2018. With The Law, Low B opened for such groups as Max Creek, Strange Folk, The EZ Star All Stars, New Riders of the Purple Sage, The Beautiful Girls, Wormtown and Strangecreek 2007-2011 (Greenfield, MA), Evolvefest 2008 & 2009 (NJ), Hobofest 2008 (NY), URI Hempfest 2007 and many more. The Law was also nominated as Rhode Islands Break Thru act of 2009 in Motif Magazine. 

     Low B released his last original album in 2013 with The Liquid Pocket 's debut album "Thawed" . The album was released with positive review and a string of high profile gigs was embarked upon. Low B played bass Recorded & Produced "Thawed" and wrote 6 of the 8 songs on the album.

     As well as being a member of Funk Nugget, The Law & Liquid Pocket, Low B also joined the group Funkatronic (2008 - 2010). Funkatronic won The Providence Phoenix's Best of Jazz/Funk award in both 2008 and 2009 and was nominatd in 2010.
      After Graduating from URI in 2004, Low B moved to The Bay Area, California for a year where he got into hip-hop session bass playing. There he met Boston, MA rapper Virtuoso and they began collaborating almost immediately. Through Virtuoso, Low B ended up recording on albums with or opening for such legendary acts as Del tha Funkee Homosapien, Hieroglyphics, The GZA, Kool Keith, Akrobatik, Vast Aire, Golden Brown and many others.  A well as working with Virtuoso, Low B also started working with Virtuoso's father's (Michael Blackmer) World renowned acoustician firm Blackmer Sound. with Michael, Low B learned the art of studio building and ended up working on studios in California to Waltz Audio at Berkeley School of Muisc in Boston, MA to Reggaeton singer Daddy Yankee's multi-million dollar personal studio in Carolina, Puerto Rico.

     All of the above mentioned experience led to Low B becoming a frequently called upon session bassist and studio engineer/producer for such New England bands/artists as Green Tea, The Phreaks, Phil Adams, Dave Shneider, Fourth Street, Optimus Rhymes, Broken Ground, the Attic, Virtuoso, Louie J, Saint, Full Atoms, The Choos, 90Seven, The Perps, Greenflash, The Munks, The Trees, Golden Brown & Neoga Records, as well as writing jingle for multiple commercials and informational product videos.

     As well as studio, Low B has worked as a professional freelance Live audio engineer (A1 & A2) / Stage Hand for multiple sound and lighting companies.  While freelancing, Low B has worked with such artists as Lettuce, Galactic, Fishbone, Pepper, Yellowman, The Spin Doctors, Reel Big Fish, The Queers, The Expendables, Pink Talking Fish, Goldfish, Ballyhoo!, The Slackers, John Browns Body, Rusted Root, Dopapod, Turkuaz, Mighty Mystic, Those Guys,  Ozuma, Boston Calling Music Festival, The New Bedford "Portugese Feast" Festival, The Norwich Rose Arts & Music Festival, Ziontific Music Festival 2019 (Production Manager) as well as many others.

     Finally, since 2000, while Brendon "Low B" Bjorness-Murano has been working as a studio engineer/producer, Live bassist, Live sound engineer, Bass & guitar instructor and Jingle writer he also used his talents, knowledge and equipment to DJ Weddings & Private events as well as play instrumental ceremony guitar. With his knowledge of music, confident public speaking style, large selection of equipment and of list of amazing associate DJ's, Low B has become one of the most sought after Wedding DJ's in Southern New England.
